Antique French White Opaline 'Crackled' Glass Casket Box with Dore Bronze Mounts.

Crackle Glass is also Known as Craquelle Glass, Ice Glass or Overshot Glass. 

Invented in the 16th century by Venetian Glass Blowers by Immersing Hot Glass in Cold Water. 

The Glass was then Reheated and Moulded to the Desired Shape. 

Glass Makers of the 19th Century used the Same Method.
